1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

    Hebrews 11:6; Hebrews 11:13

11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. 11:13 All these people died in faith, without having received the things they were promised. However, they saw them and welcomed them from afar. And they acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.

    Romans 4:1–2

4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

4:1 What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, has discovered? 4:2 If Abraham was indeed justified by works, he had something to boast about, but not before God.

    Acts 4:12

4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

4:12 Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

    John 8:56

8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see My day. He saw it and was glad."

Paragraph 7.6

Under the Gospel, when Christ, the substance, was exhibited, the Ordinances in which this Covenant is dispensed, are the Preaching of the Word, and the Administration of the Sacraments of Baptisme, and the Lords Supper: Which, though fewer in number, and administred with more simplicity, and lesse outward glory; yet, in them, it is held forth in more fulnesse, evidence, and spirituall efficacy, to all Nations, both Jews and Gentiles; and, is called the New Testament. There are not therefore Two Covenants of Grace, differing in substance, but one and the same, under various dispensations.
