Paragraph 11.2

Chapter 11: Of Justification

  1. a. Romans 3:28

    Romans 3:28

3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

  2. b. Galatians 5:6; James 2:17, 22, 26

    Galatians 5:6

5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.

    James 2:17; James 2:22; James 2:26

2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

2:17 So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead. 2:22 You see that his faith was working with his actions, and his faith was perfected by what he did. 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
