Paragraph 11.6

Chapter 11: Of Justification

The Justification of Believers under the Old Testament was in all these respects, one and the same with the justification of Believers under the New Tement.a

  1. a. Galatians 3:9; Romans 4:22–24

    Galatians 3:9

    3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

    3:9 So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

    Romans 4:22–24

    4:22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. 4:23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

    4:22 This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness." 4:23 Now the words "it was credited to him" were written not only for Abraham, 4:24 but also for us, to whom righteousness will be credited-for us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
